As I write this blog post, I’m thinking about the length of the post and whether it’s going to be too short. Yeah, that’s something I actually think about. I know I want to add value, but I also don’t want to create stress around how long this post is going to be, that I end up not writing it at all. So, the way I see it, if I can give you the content, get straight to the point and add value all at the same time, then it’s a win-win for us both. I can come from a place of authenticity and you can read it, comment below, and continue with your day! So, I’ll get to the point with what I have to say!
If you’re at a place where you feel ready to quit your job, first of all, kudos to you because that means you can see beyond where you are, and that’s a beautiful thing! However, if you’re serious about leaving your job, you need to make sure you have this one thing, and that’s a value-centered idea!
When you decide to leap, it’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of it all. You know, the idea of embarking on a new journey, discovering who you are as a person, and betting on yourself fully for the first time in ever. It’s gonna feel amazing, but don’t let your excitement be the reason you don’t have a solid idea of what you want to do after you quit. If you do, you’ll end up being the “I’ll figure it out as I go” type, and that’s the quickest way to lose time, money, and energy.
Center your idea around your passion and possibly purpose. You’ll get clearer on your purpose as you start moving on the idea, but think about your values and the things that are most important to you. It’ll take some thought, but it’ll make it so you actually feel like yourself on this journey, as opposed to just doing something because you’re “good at it.”
Leaving your job to pursue interests that are more aligned with who you are and what you feel like your purpose on this planet is, is courageous, bad ass, and begins with a value-centered idea! It’s also the best decision you’ll ever make in your life!
